Hans and Therese Herzog come from a winegrowing family that dates back to 1482.
They moved their renowned winery and Michelin-starred restaurant from their native Switzerland into the heart of Marlborough where they have become established as one of New Zealand’s leading boutique estates.
Winemaking practices are traditional and absolutely natural to respect and preserve aromas and flavours that have been optimized in the vineyard. Nothing added, nothing extracted, and the extremely concentrated wine is just gracefully matured over time in French Barriques and in the bottle.
Hans grows what he loves to drink and experiments with grape varieties. Pinot Gris, Viognier, Montepulciano, Nebbiolo, Arneis and many other varieties rarely witnessed in New Zealand make up the vineyard. Many of the fantastic individual wines are often too small for general release and are available only at the cellar door, bistro or restaurant.
