The Crossings
The name “The Crossings” refers to the point where 19th century settlers forded the Awatere River.
Initiated in 1995, The Crossings is comprised of 140 hectares (346 acres) of three wholly owned vineyards located in the Awatere Valley, a recognised sub-region of Marlborough. The Awatere Valley provides fruit with structures and textures different even from its sister Wairau Valley. This results in wines differentiated by flavour and style – particularly with Sauvignon Blanc.
The Crossings is based on the acknowledgement of the uniqueness of the fruit flavours being delivered from our different vineyard sites and only grapes from these vineyards are used to produce The Crossings wines. Each site is vinified separately then selectively blended to complement each other and capture maximum fruit intensity
We have chosen to consistently produce the finest quality wines, which embody both the regional qualities of Marlborough and the unique characters of the sites.
