Southbank Estate
Southbank Estate was established in 2000 by family owned wine company, Ager Sectus Wine Estates Ltd. Southbank Estate owns approximately 200 hectares (500 acres) of vineyards in Marlborough and in Hawkes Bay, which are the largest most proven grape growing regions of New Zealand. These regions have established reputations for grape varieties best suited to their terroir. This high level of self sufficiency of grape supply enables control of grape quality and focuses on providing consistent ultra-premium wine at sustainable price points.
Winemaking, viticulture and marketing are recognised as separate, specalised disciplines at Southbank Estate, each contributing to the wine style. Making unique wines requires a fusion of ideas and a willingness to experiment beyond the normal parameters of winemaking. Southbank Estate has a philosophy of allowing all parts of the business to combine ideas, tastes and techniques to produce wines that have diversity of style whilst being distinctively regional in character.
Southbank Estate prides itself on having the right people, the right land, modern wine practices and consumer-driven styles.
