The purpose of the Young Viticulturist Marlborough competition is to find a national viticulture representative to compete in the Young Horticulturist of the Year competition and to celebrate the young talent in our region.

Winners of the regional event will go on to compete at the national final at the 2010 Bragato conference.  They will vie for the coveted title of Young Viticulturist of the Year 2010 earning the right to compete at the Young Horticulturist of the year competition.

HORTY SPORTS

As part of the Young Viticulturist event a Horty Sports competition is held and is a light hearted opportunity to see competitors pit their skills against one another.  Horty Sports is designed to be a spectator event and we encourage industry people to come along and support the young contestants.  Details include:

THE MARKHAMS YOUNG VITICULTURIST MARLBOROUGH DINNER

The Marlborough Young Viticulturist competition has been running for 5 years and following the success of the inaugural competition dinner in 2009, Wine Marlborough will be hosting the event again to celebrate and highlight the young talent in our region. The dinner will follow the competition which will be held during the day and will feature speeches from the competition finalists as well as a general knowledge quiz round. We encourage industry to come along to support the competition and our future Marlborough viticulturists.

Venue:                    Wither Hills, New Renwick Rd
Price per head:      $95 and includes:

- Le Brun sparkling wine on arrival
- 3 course menu
- Wine match for each course
